PETITION to RECALLÂ
TIM KELLY, PLACE 1 CEDAR PARK CITY COUNCIL
The City Council of Cedar Park has among its core values: LEADERSHIP and INTEGRITY. According to the core values listed by the city council, LEADERSHIP and INTEGRITY are defined as follows:
LEADERSHIP: We provide positive influences for citizens. We overcome obstacles and move forward in a direction that follows our community vision.
INTEGRITY: We adhere to the highest ethical standards. We are honorable, fair and sincere and strive to uphold our organizational values with our decisions and in our actions. We understand that trust is earned through good character.
As such, a citizen of Cedar Park would and should expect to see its council members present themselves in a way that embodies these characteristics first and foremost.
We, as qualified electors, request that Council member Tim Kelly, Place 1, be recalled for the following reasons:
He does not uphold the core values of the City of Cedar Park as would be expected of an elected official
He regularly uses his platform to incite targeted harassment against LGBTQ identifying community members and others from marginalized populations
He has frequently made defamatory statements and misrepresented other vulnerable individuals and groups in our community
He has targeted public servants in public social media posts, calling teachers "leaches" [sic]
We need 10% of eligible voters to sign this petition.
